What To Expect During Your Craniosacral Session

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on bodywork treatment that uses a light, reverential touch. My approach is in the biodynamic style, where the practitioner uses intelligent listening to tune into deep rhythmic energies and forces in the body to help support the body’s natural vitality and health.

For your treatment, you will be fully clothed on the massage table in a comfortable supported position. Using a gentle, light touch, I will listen deeply to your body’s craniosacral rhythms, the movements of fluids and bones, and the places where there are stuck patterns or energies.

Craniosacral therapy can help unwind and resolve physical or emotional patterns held in the body. Its focus is on the inherent health of the entire being, not just the physical body, but the energetic field as well. It helps address health at the level of the nervous system, supporting its ability to enter the parasympathetic, “rest and digest” phase where deep healing can happen.

A fundamental tenet of biodynamic craniosacral therapy is trust in the body’s innate intelligence and ability to heal itself. As your therapist, my role is to provide a safe, nurturing relational field for your body to reconnect to its inherent health and unfold its own treatment plan. I will listen intelligently and hold space as stuck patterns and restrictions begin to shift and unwind.

Because your body is leading the process, healing will unfold at the rate that your system can handle and no faster. This makes it an exceptionally gentle form of bodywork.
